In this course, the students will plan their IXUX Research Project. They will learn about the requirements for planning a successful Final Project, with advice on choosing topics, analysing issues, developing argumentation, structuring research, use of different research and design methods, planning work, and report writing.¿
Syllabus:
In this module the students work in relation to their project development. Workshops will offer support in planning research (e.g. ethics, data collection and analysis), discussing project write-ups, and research methods. Near the end of the course, the students are required to give a short presentation on their project ideas and plans. A short project report is also required.
Learning Outcomes:
Cognitive (Knowledge, Understanding, Application, Analysis, Evaluation, Synthesis)
On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
1 - Identify the key features of a well-planned project.
2 - Argue a case for the research, design and evaluation approach selected by the student;
3 - Illustrate design concepts and ideas through use of animations, video.
4 - Present project plans and defends design research decisions

How the Module will be Taught and what will be the Learning Experiences of the Students:
This module is taught in synergy with Principles of Interaction and Experience Design 1. Together will contribute to student knowledgeability as they offer an opportunity to deepen the material taught in Semester 1, with focus on design and research methods. The module is project-based and multidisciplinary.
Work in the module is based on group projects to support the development of the students' proactivity, collaboration and responsibility. The focus on planning final project further support proactivity and responsibility. Creativity is central as this is a design module. Articulation is supported as the module expect the student to presentations, discuss and peer-critique.
