Rationale and Purpose of the Module:

To demonstrate students abilities to apply their learning experiences within their professional settings and to present the outcomes in dissertation format

Syllabus:

Subsequent to submission of her/his dissertation, the student prepares a paper of approximately 5,000 words on substantive issues and/or significant findings arising out of her/his doctoral research, paying particular attention to the implications for educational leadership and management. These papers will then be forwarded for consideration to an appropriate research publication.

Learning Outcomes:

Cognitive (Knowledge, Understanding, Application, Analysis, Evaluation, Synthesis)

Upon completion of this module students will be able to: 1. Identify, in consultation with her/his supervisor, aspect(s) of her/his work that has a potential contribution to make to their area of research. 2. Explain the implications of the research 3. Select and employ analysis techniques 4. Develop a draft presentation of worthwhile findings from her/his research for publication in an appropriate forum

Upon completion of this module students will be able to: 1. Organise the research in acceptable format for publication 2. Demonstrate the novelty in the research area 3. Share the research to the appropriate community 4. Display an understanding of the research topics

How the Module will be Taught and what will be the Learning Experiences of the Students:

Students work independently to produce a paper based on their doctoral research. Supervisors will review drafts and provide guidance on structure and content and help identify appropriate journals for publication.
