Rationale and Purpose of the Module:
The Project 1 Module is prequisite for Project 2 module and forms a core part of the BSc (Equine Science) Degree programme
Syllabus:
Introduction to the project; definition of its purpose, scope, requisites. Introduction to methodologies for undertaking primary and secondary research. Development of initial thesis and research design; directives for refining the initial research idea and for conducting research. Development of a literature review and outline of materials and methods relevant to a specific research project

On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Identify literature relevant to the selected research project.
Define a research topic.
Interpret and review the literature relevant to the research task

Value the significance of the contribution of research to solving problems.

On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Deliver analysis of scientific research papers to peers
Organise and present in written format the relevant research findings
Compile and submit a literature and outline of materials and methods review relevant to their own particular project
