Rationale and Purpose of the Module:
To permit students to demonstrate their ability to write a high level research article on an agreed topic.
Syllabus:
Agreed topic between supervisor leading to production of not more than a 15,000 word dissertation of graduate level standard.
Learning Outcomes:
Cognitive (Knowledge, Understanding, Application, Analysis, Evaluation, Synthesis)
On completion a student will be able to
- Identify a viable research topic
- Identify appropriate legal material to form the basis of their research
- Analyse legal material and assess relevance and standing
- Critique a research question with appropriate standards
- Produce a significant piece of academic writing of publishable quality
