To enable the student to develop their ability to work on their own
To familiarize the student with the process of research, development and design.
To develop the students ability to write a detailed report

Project Planning û Project Schedule, defined outcomes, Gantt Chart
Project Implementation û Use of Log Book, Project Meetings, Project Research
Interim Presentation û Written Report and Oral Presentation
Project Analysis û Application of acquired engineering skills to subject area
Project Reporting û author a substantial engineering technical report
Project Examination/Defence û Viva voce examination
Learning Outcomes:

Construct a project plan making best use of latest information technology
Classify an engineering project into work packages and identify resources required to complete work packages
Prepare a clear motivation and set of objectives for the project
Produce a critical review of previous work in the field
Develop a theoretical foundation and coherent justification for the methodology taken in the project
For Design based projects present clearly and critically evaluate different design concepts, and justify final choice through engineering analysis and/or prototype development
Convey through a formal presentation to a professional audience, the current project status and an implementation plan to meet stated objectives within remaining project timeframe
Prepare a concise engineering technical report on current project status, and implementation plan to meet stated objectives within remaining project timeframe
