Rationale and Purpose of the Module:
The international workshop brings participants on the Corporate MBA programme to a global business hub in another country. During the workshop participants may meet with local companies, government authorities and academic institutions, experiencing first-hand the culture and businesses practices of another economy. The International Workshop brings the themes discussed in class to life and gives a new perspective on the socio-economic and business conditions of countries around the world. Objectives include:
To provide students with an understanding and appreciation of foreign cultures and business practices.
To provide students with the opportunity to build new and meaningful personal and working relationships.
To enable students to understand global institutions and competitive challenges of a developing or emerging market.
To develop an appreciation of another country's culture.
To expose students to different business practices and cultures
Syllabus:
During the International Workshop, students spend time interacting with professionals in various corporate and university environments. Class discussions cover issues regarding the effects of governments and economies, international marketing, business protocol, and international management. Students will be required to undertake a related assisgnment and will be assessed on a pass/fail basis.
Learning Outcomes:

Understand the operation of business institutions in a foreign country.
Be able to apply the knowledge taught within a global context.
Be able to debate international themes and concepts learnt in a classroom environment with their peers.
Appreciate the importance of being aware of other cultures and business practices.
Extend the students international business knowledge and understanding.
Affective (Attitudes and Values)
An enhanced cultural knowledge, sensitivity, and appreciation of different people, cultures and business practices.
The development of their networking skills.
Be able to discuss business issues and concepts with international managers/entrepreneurs/government officials.
To have an awareness of their values and assumptions about the world around them.
To maintain a deeper understanding of business practices, international relations, and underlying cultural traditions of the visited country.

How the Module will be Taught and what will be the Learning Experiences of the Students:
The module will be delivered by lecture, seminar and company visit in an international location. Graduate attributes will be developed in the following ways: Knowledgeable: Students will gain a deep knowledge of through practical examples, company visits, guest speakers and in-class discussion; Proactive: Students are expected to be proactive in their own learning through independent study and self-directed learning; Responsible: Students will develop a sense of responsibility through class discussions on various ethical issues; Collaborative: Students will be required to participate in class discussions and group work; Articulate: Students will become articulate in expressing advice through the use of in-class discussions, presentations and written coursework.
