Rationale and Purpose of the Module:
The purpose of this module is to facilitate students to conduct work such as, but not confined to a small scale research project or systematic/integrated review. Students must complete Dissertation 1 prior to commencing Dissertation 2.
Syllabus:
The dissertation will comprise a substantial research project which will require knowledge in relation to; use of databases, research process, research design and paradigms, methods and methodology, time management. The work must meet ethical and research governance requirements.
Learning Outcomes:
Cognitive (Knowledge, Understanding, Application, Analysis, Evaluation, Synthesis)
Conduct the dissertation in line with ethical and research governance requirements.
Evaluate own research data and findings and synthesise with existing literature and practice.
Critically discuss the implications of the dissertation for future theory and practice.
Critically analyse the conduct of the study to ensure methodological rigour.
Organise, prepare and present final research dissertation.
Affective (Attitudes and Values)
Demonstrate an appreciation of the ethical principles in the context of the study.

All students will be provided with the necessary supervision to support the completion of this research.
Students will be required to demonstrate an understanding of best practice in the conduct of research enquiry.
