Rationale and Purpose of the Module:

Students Will Develop critical evaluation skills relay to product ergonomics Apply ergonomic method to real design problems Understand static and dynamic ergonomics, issues reliability

Syllabus:

Literature survey, user research with a given product, concept development, design proposal, model of design, research on the proposal, finalise design, implement concept, presentation and feedback. Static and dynamic measurement, applied to consumer product development.

Learning Outcomes:

Cognitive (Knowledge, Understanding, Application, Analysis, Evaluation, Synthesis)

Upon successful completion of this module students will be able to, 1. Plan and conduct a usability evaluation of product 2. Critically evaluate the quality of their ergonomics research skills 3. Understand the principles of information theory and derive the basic information theory equations 4. Determine and apply relevant ISO standards for usability evaluation 5. Appreciate the principles of inclusively in design 6. Appreciate the implications of the psychology of individual differences on product design
