Rationale and Purpose of the Module:
This module is is desgined to introduce the concepts of Human Resource Planning, job analysis, Recruitment, Selection & Induction to equip Front Line Managers with the Knowledge, Techniques and Skills to effectively recruit, select and induct new team members. Develop a knowledge, understanding and the practical application of relevant Human Resource Management processes.
Syllabus:
Syllabus includes - HR Planning & Development, Jog Analysis Methods & Outputs, Preparing Job Descriptions & Personal Specifications, Regulatory Environment Influencing Human Resourcing, Sources of Recruitment & appropriate Administrative Systems, Selection Methods & Short-listing, Conducting Selection Interviews and Designing Application and Management of Induction Progrrammes.

Present and preparing both job descriptions and person specifications. Developing key active listening skills. Conducting a Selection interview. Desgin and manage new employee induction programmes.

How the Module will be Taught and what will be the Learning Experiences of the Students:
This module will be taught in both interactive workshop based format and by distance Learning. While based on essential academic theories, concepts and techniques there will also be significant focus afforded to individual personal development allied with the pratical application of learning within the workplace.
