Rationale and Purpose of the Module:
This module is desgined to examine a number of core concepts relating to the management of performance and to develop the skills to plan, prepare and conduct performance reviews and personal development reviews. Also to heighten awarness of linking performance objectives at the corporate, team and individual levels. Develop knowledge and understanding of the central theories, core competencies and key skills associated with effective performance and personal development reviews.
Syllabus:
Syllabus includes - Key role of the front line manager, Performance management cycle, Setting and measuring objectives, Self analysis of job and personal development reviews, Relating performance and rewards, Managing marginal performance, Active listening and feedback skills.
Learning Outcomes:
Cognitive (Knowledge, Understanding, Application, Analysis, Evaluation, Synthesis)
Develop core communication and active listening skills. Complie self analysis and feedback skills. Develop and synthesis key theories and concepts. Develop deeper level of understanding about the measurement of performance and managing marginal performers.

How the Module will be Taught and what will be the Learning Experiences of the Students:
This module will be taught in both interactive workshop based format and bt distance learning. While based on essential academic theories, concepts and techniques there will also be significant focus afforded to individual personal development allied with the pratical application of learning within the workplace.
