How the Module will be Taught and what will be the Learning Experiences of the Students:

This is a self-directed student project supervised by a member of Faculty. Students will initiate a research project on a topic approved by their Faculty Supervisor. Students will then take the necessary steps (i.e. literature search and review, data collection and analysis, drafting and revising final report, etc.) to complete the 8,000-10,000 word project report by the set deadline. Students will be taught through a series of meetings with their allocated Supervisor and their ongoing independent work on their research. Students will benefit from one-to-one focused discussions and feedback and will become aware of the collegial dimension to research and learning. This module will assist students with the development of a number of graduate attributes. First, it will develop their curiosity by requiring them to be critical and inquisitive of the literature, become knowledgeable in a specific area of work and organisational psychology/behaviour and requiring them to engage in problem-solving across various stages of their research. The module also develops agility, as students are required to work independently and be adaptive and flexible throughout the research process. Students will also develop as responsible researchers and practitioners, as they will be required to conduct their research according to ethical requirements. The module will also develop them as courageous, as the work on their research throughout the year will require resilience and tenacity in the continuous work on their project, as well as being enterprising and innovative in develop and conducting their research. Finally, the module develops students as articulate graduates, by requiring them strong inter-personal skills in working with their supervisor and research participants alike.
