Rationale and Purpose of the Module:
For students to develop an understanding of how psychology is applied in practice
To introduce students to the range of areas in which professional psychologists work
Syllabus:
To examine how major theories and core areas of psychology can be applied in professional practice
Learning Outcomes:
Cognitive (Knowledge, Understanding, Application, Analysis, Evaluation, Synthesis)
On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
1. Identify the core fields of practice of psychology in the real world.
2. Explain the pathways to careers in these fields of practice.
3. Formulate a plan for a career in psychology.
Affective (Attitudes and Values)
On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
1. Value the different fields of psychology for understanding the complexity of human behaviour.
2. Discuss the different career paths open to psychology graduates.
3. Acknowledge the application of psychology to human behaviour.

How the Module will be Taught and what will be the Learning Experiences of the Students:
This will be taught online via lectures and skills of proactive, collaboration and knowledge exchange will be developed through course material and assessments in a research led curriculum. There were will be space for collaboration and articulation skills development within the breakout rooms in the lectures.
