Rationale and Purpose of the Module:
This module provides students with a broad introduction to research, theories, and concepts concerned with personal and professional development. Syllabus:
In this module students will learn about the theoretical foundations and research underpinning personal and professional development related but not limited to the discipline of psychology. Students will also engage in workshops to explore and evaluate evidence-based knowledge to facilitate deep learning into personal and professional development relevant to their future professions. Self-awareness, self-determinations, self-care, resilience, and resourcefulness are some of the concepts that will be explored both theoretically and experientially. Assessments are designed to support the achievement of learning outcomes and serve the students' personal and professional development for their desired career paths.

How the Module will be Taught and what will be the Learning Experiences of the Students:
This module will be delivered fortnightly over the course of the semester, incorporating two dimensions: theoretical and practical. Each session will consist of 1-hour of theoretical content, followed by 1-hour of practical personal and professional development workshops. The theoretical component will introduce students to evidence-based knowledge related to personal and professional development, particularly in clinical and community psychology settings, fostering curiosity as students explore key concepts. The workshops will give students the opportunity to apply these concepts in a practical way, supporting the achievement of learning outcomes and promoting agility as they adapt their learning to real-world scenarios. These workshops also provide a space for students to develop articulate communication skills, share, and learn through self-reflection and self-awareness, essential for building responsible professionals with strong inter- and intrapersonal skills. Personal and professional development is vital to preparing students to become open-minded, resilient, and critical thinkers, supporting the development of robust graduates ready to thrive in diverse professional environments (Nastasa & Cazan, 2013).
